Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre might be the most frequently produced historical. No contest, the best is the  2011 Jane Eyre  adaptation with Michael Fassbender and Mia Wasikowska.

Charlotte Brontë’s iconic novel was originally subtitled ‘An Autobiography’. In Jane Eyre, Charlotte Brontë created ‘a heroine as plain, and as small as myself, who’, she told her sisters, ‘shall be as interesting as any of yours’.

Sharlotte Bronte wrote her first novella ‘The Green Dwarf’ in 1833 under the pen name Wellesley.

Charlotte Brontë was a British novelist, the eldest out of the three famous Brontë sisters whose novels have become standards of English literature.
